My Story...

I have been working in the dance industry professionally for over 17 years. After beginning my training at 8 years old, I later found my love of dance as a member of the highly regarded QL2 Youth Dance Company. Continuing my studies at the Queensland University of Technology, I graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts focusing on contemporary dance.

Over the years I have had the opportunity to work as a company dancer, freelancer, choreographer and teacher within theatre, arts and music festivals and dance film throughout Australia and overseas. I also enjoyed experience working on more commercial projects for film and TV and was involved in music film clips for artists such as; Darren Hayes, Little Birdy, The Sleepy Jackson, Powderfinger, The Living End, Youth Group, Ben Lee, Skipping Girl Vinegar, TZU, Kid Radio, Alex Watts, Timothy Coghill, Le1f (USA) and most recently Phia and the Melbourne Indie Choir!

After years in the industry I started to long for that initial spark of joy and wonderment I felt when I first discovered my love of dance. As a shy kid, dance had given me a voice and helped me find confidence (my own "Sasha fierce"). I decided to focus on teaching, but to expand my perspective on the significance of dance within the broader community. Further study in Dance Movement Therapy gave me a deeper understanding of the physical, emotional, social and cognitive benefits inherent in movement practice.

I am now passionate about facilitating dance and movement in a multifaceted way, empowering people by giving them tools to expand their range of movement, and inspiring them to enjoy expressing themselves!
